I meant to start this on the first. Story of my life (so far). I suppose I shouldn't think of this as "late" though, since if I made New Year's resolutions, which I adamantly do NOT, one would be to combat perfectionism. Which would mean that this isn't late at all, it is Right On Time. So, having cleared THAT up! Here I am in what I like to call "my new wonderful life." I say that whenever I decide to Do Something Good for Myself, like exercise, or read more books, or make more stuff, or eat right. Well, today the thing is, start blogging! Not that I haven't tried before. Oh, I have tried. I have started and stopped blogging more times than you could shake a stick at. What makes this time different? Hmmmm. Well, it has never been 2008 before. So!

A little bit about me. I like to make things. All kinds of things. In fact, my main problem is deciding just what it is I want to make today, because basically I want to make Everything. I want to sew, that's the main thing. But I also like to make things with paper, and lately I have been trying to learn to solder stuff, so I guess I would like to make jewelry or something like it. I would love to write the Great American Something. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a novel. People tell me I should be Erma Bombeckish, but I suspect a lot of us think we are Ermaish. The thing is, I never think I really have anything all that interesting to say, given that I don't have seven or eight children or anything. Anyway, back to making stuff. I plan to write a lot about stuff that I am making, and I will start with this one thing I just made, a cozy for the new iPod Touch I got for Christmas, which I am now in love with. The iPod, not the cozy, although I rather like the cozy as well. Anyway, I found a bit of this and a bit of that, and sewed this up to protect my new Favorite Thing.
